INGREDIENTS
1. Gothambu Rava - 1 cup
2. Grated coconut - 1/4 cup
3. Onion (medium) - 1
4. Red chillis - 2
5. Curry leaves - 1 or 2 sprigs
6. Ginger chopped - 1 table spoon
7. Oil 1 1/2 table spoon
8. Ground nut, cashew nut , almonds - 10-20
9. Mustard seeds - 1/2 tea spoon
10. Urad dal - 1 tea spoon
11. Kadala parippu - 2 tea spoon
METHOD
1. Wash the rava and drain the water by taking a handful at a time and squeezing. Spread it on a plate and it will be dry in 5 minutes.
2. Chop the onions. Crush the chillis.
3. Heat oil in a pan and splutter the mustard seeds. Add chana dal (kadala parippu), urad dal, nuts and chillis one by one and fry. Add onion and saute for 2 minutes. Add ginger and curry leaves and stir till the onion starts changing colour. Now add the rava and stir fry for 3-4 minutes
4. Add 2 1/2 cups of boiling water to the fried rava followed by salt. Stir well , make a small pit in the middle and add coconut. Cover and heat on low flame till the water is gone and rava is soft.
